Lead by experienced artists, the programme includes arts and crafts, story-sharing and reminiscence activities, with plenty of time for tea and chat. Participants do not need a diagnosis of dementia to take part.

However, it is important to remember that the virus is still circulating at high rates in Warwickshire communities and although restrictions are easing Warwickshire County Council continues to encourage residents to follow COVID-19 safe behaviour advice.

Warwickshire joins the region’s virtual forest

The Virtual Forest is an online mapping tool that enables anyone who has planted a tree to register it and it is hoped that all new tree planting across Warwickshire, and the wider region, will be included. This is an opportunity for everyone in the West Midlands to get involved in making the region a greener, happier and healthier place to live, work and play.

Joint local area SEND (Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities) Written Statement of Action published

Co-produced with health, education partners, and parents and carers, the Written Statement of Action (WSoA) focusses on several priorities to help drive through improvements and long-term sustainable change across SEND services for our children and young people and parent carers. The WSoA has been approved by Ofsted and CQC, and the ongoing collaborative work across all partner organisations will continue.

 Warwickshire Country Parks accredited for Learning Outside the Classroom

Kingsbury Water Park and Ryton Pools Country Park have both been recognised for the quality of the learning outside the classroom, and also the safety of the setting.

The parks first received the awards for excellence in outdoor education 10 years ago, and have continued to demonstrate that they meet the rigorous standards of the award which is assessed every two years.

Grant funding awarded to support communities impacted by COVID.

Warwickshire County Council awarded the funding to groups and initiatives through an application process which allowed the groups to detail how they support their local community and the impact the funding will have to help them achieve their goal.
