Worrying about war and conflict

Talking about war, and feeling confident and comfortable about it can be very difficult. Remember that for some people they might not have had any direct experiences of war. For others they may have had direct experiences and that can be difficult too. This resource has some ideas to help you think about approaches and strategies to talk about these situations.

Support is available for anyone in Coventry and Warwickshire affected by suicide

Warwickshire County Council and Coventry City Council would like to remind people affected by suicide that free and confidential support is available to help them through this difficult time.

When someone dies by taking their own life, this can create a ripple throughout the community, having an impact on many people in lots of different ways. Whether you are grieving a loved one, a friend or colleague, or whether you have been affected by suicide as a passer-by or at work, you may be faced with a lot of complex emotions. Feelings such as sadness, guilt, shock, anger, frustration, confusion and isolation are common and can be really difficult to process.

Circle Network

Circles Network have a number of projects operating out of their Rugby hub including:

ReaLise Project – 10 week funded programme for children, young people and adults resident in Warwickshire whose mental health has been adversely affected by Covid-19.

Taking the Reins – 6 week funded programme of equine assisted learning thanks to the Pets at Home Foundation.  This focuses on recognising and building positive friendships, raising self- esteem and self- confidence, having fun and improving emotional literacy.

Ready Steady Go! – this programme funded through Children in Need is aimed at younger children aged 0-5 years who may face additional challenges. Sessions include structured play along side the ponies and supports the EYFS framework.

Act for Autism

Are you a parent/carer of an autistic child or teenager? Do you want to understand their autism and help them understand their autism?

Act for Autism are offering free online interactive parent/carer workshops. The workshops will be taking place via Zoom. The workshops consist or 4 x 3 hour sessions over a 4 week period facilitated by autism professionals who are also parents.

Be future ready with Warwickshire’s youth conference

The free conference has been organised with help from young people and is for young people aged between 11-17. It will provide a friendly and empowering environment to discuss important topics that are facing them today with the organisations who are making a difference in the community.

The themes for the day have been chosen by young people and are mental health, climate change, relationships, youth homelessness and careers. Young people will get a chance to choose two workshops from these themes and will also have a chance to talk to over 25 organisations from Warwickshire who help to create a child friendly county.
