The free event offers a unique opportunity for young people to learn about the SEND Local Offer, the importance of participation and to give direct feedback to help make information more easily accessible to them and their families. Parents and carers are also encouraged to attend, whether that be in support of their child or young person, or by themselves to share their own views.

Taking place on Tuesday 30 August, 10am to 3pm, in Leamington, the event has been organised by Warwickshire County Council in partnership with Warwickshire Parent Carer Voice and KIDS.

Emergency duty carers are part of a dedicated team providing support and stability to young people at very short notice. They provide emergency cover outside of office hours for children and young people who need a home for the night but are unable to stay with friends or relatives.

Less than a month for climate positive projects to apply to the Green Shoots Community Fund

Community and voluntary groups – particularly those in Nuneaton and Bedworth and North Warwickshire Boroughs – are being reminded to apply for funding for their climate change mitigation and adaptation projects before the application period for this second round of funding closes on Monday 19 September.

Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service (WFRS) has expressed its gratitude to staff and local communities for their support over the summer. The past two months have seen soaring temperatures and the driest July recorded since 1885, contributing to a dramatic increase in open fires, forest fires and water rescue incidents.

Firefighters, fire control operatives and supporting staff have worked tirelessly to respond to these incidents, as well as raising awareness of measures to prevent them from occurring in the first place where possible.
