Educaterers supports healthy eating initiatives

The county’s school catering organisation, Educaterers, is encouraging children to make healthy choices by providing them with both nutritious and delicious options!

The team also support various world events and awareness days/months, for example, during ‘Veganuary’, the international campaign encouraging people to embrace plant-based living for the month of January – menus offered a ‘plant ball melt’. Some of the themed menus coming up include Rugby themed meals to mark the Six Nations Rugby Championship; and special biscuits to highlight Red Nose Day.

That’s the message from the latest Love Your Bump campaign. Stopping smoking can be a challenge, but when a new baby is due, quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do as a family to give baby a heathy start in life.

Families looking to quit smoking can access support from the specialist team of dedicated Stop Smoking in Pregnancy (SSiP) advisors who provide a friendly and confidential service to help pregnant smokers and their families stop smoking.

Your night out sorted thanks to Warwickshire Buses

When you are planning an evening out on the town, do you consider using the bus as your form of transport? If you didn’t know, lots of the bus routes in the county are in operation later into the evening.

Evening bus routes in Warwickshire link to and from a range of great night out destinations such as Leamington, Rugby, and Nuneaton from 8pm onwards.

These buses also provide excellent connectivity to neighbouring cities and boroughs such as Coventry, Birmingham, and Solihull.

Buses play a vital role not only in providing a cheap and effective form of transport but also keep congestion and emissions down by reducing the numbers of vehicles on the roads.

Last chance to have your say on Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Services Proposal

Warwickshire residents are invited to have their say on a proposed change to how WFRS manage their resources, including fire appliances and firefighters. The proposal on which they are asking for feedback is called Resourcing to Risk, and optimises the distribution of those resources so that they better align to risk and demand across the county. 
The public consultation period launched in mid-December and will close on 10 March 2024.

There’s still time for aspiring trainee solicitors to apply to join the award-winning, motivated, and nationally recognised team at Warwickshire Legal Services (WLS).

WLS, a LEXCEL accredited legal practice operating commercially on behalf of WCC, is inviting applications for up to four exciting new training contracts.

Under the guidance of senior staff, the trainee solicitors will gain hands-on experience across a wide variety of legal areas and will benefit from having a 24-month training contract to get involved in the different areas, spending six months working in each.
