Warwickshire chosen as pathfinder for national reform of children’s social care services

The Pathfinder Programme is a government led initiative which aims to rebalance children’s social care and avoid costly crisis intervention by offering more meaningful and effective early support.

Working in partnership with the Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board and Warwickshire Police, the County Council will establish new delivery models for family help, child protection, family networks and multi-agency safeguarding arrangements ahead of a national transformation.

Engineering company partners with council and universities to boost recruitment

Award winning, top engineering company 3P Innovation has sought help from Warwickshire County Council on expanding its technical workforce.

The Skills Hub has referred 3P Innovation’s STEM ambassadors to the University of Warwick and Coventry University, and the Warwickshire Careers Hub is interacting with local schools to ignite the next generation’s passion for engineering and inspire them to work for companies such as 3P Innovation.

Fire Service issues advice to reduce the risk of smoking-related fires

If you are a smoker, or you know someone who is, you will have heard many reasons why you should consider quitting.

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service (WFRS) is asking residents to consider the fire risk associated with smoking and  reminding them of the steps to take to keep safe.

An update on the rollout of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Warwickshire

A new report has detailed progress with the rollout of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in Warwickshire. In summary, it will focus on these key areas:

  • Prioritising areas with limited off-street parking
  • Supporting home charging solutions
  • Resident engagement
  • Collaboration with partners

Warwickshire County Council is still encouraging residents to suggest locations for EV charging points and anyone can make a location suggestion by visiting the Council’s website.

Warwickshire town to host Interactive Futures – the conference for all things gaming

Interactive Futures is returning to Leamington Spa next month, attracting thousands of gaming experts to the area.

Prestigious studios including Third Kind Games, The Sumo Group, Ubisoft and Playground Games will be exhibiting and talking all things games, careers and skills at The Royal Spa Centre on Friday and Saturday, May 10 and 11.

Warwickshire communities are working together to reduce carbon emissions

Efforts across Warwickshire to fight climate change and increase biodiversity are being given a boost by community groups working alongside local town and parish councils.

LCE Fund pumps £2.5million into businesses in two years

A scheme launched by Warwickshire County Council to give a helping hand to start-up, micro, small and medium businesses has distributed nearly £2.5 million of funding in less than two years.

The Local Communities & Enterprise Fund (LCE) was started in June 2022 to provide loans to businesses who were struggling to access lending by the usual High Street banking routes. It has now distributed over £2,484,368 in loans between 44 businesses as well as social enterprises.
