Budget approved by Full Council

Warwick District Council’s budget for 2025/26 was approved at the Full Council meeting on Wednesday. Councillors also agreed to a moderate 2.99% rise in the District Council’s share of Council Tax (11p a week for a Band D property), giving the green light to fund essential public services and invest in key longer-term improvement projects outlined in our corporate strategy.

This decision means that from April a band D household will pay the District Council £187.60 a year in Council Tax (compared to £182.15 in 2024/25), with the District Council taking just 8% of the total bill.

We’re reviewing our current Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) and considering options for creating new ones, and residents are invited to take part in this process.

Public Spaces Protection Orders ensure public spaces can be enjoyed by the community, free from anti-social behaviour. They are not about stopping responsible use, or preventing people from using an area, but they do provide councils with a way of dealing with persistent issues that are damaging the community.

The current Warwick District Public Spaces Protection Orders include:

🐶 dog control and dog fouling

🚫 dog exclusion areas

🍺 intoxicating substances zone

As part of the PSPO consultation, members of the public are encouraged to complete an online survey which is available on our website until 9 March.
