Warwickshire cyclists clock an impressive 69,522 miles during cycling event
In December 2024 and January 2025, Warwickshire cyclists were out in force as part of Love to Ride’s Winter Wheelies campaign which encourages safe winter cycling.

In total, 407 riders from 37 workplaces took part in Warwickshire and logged a collective distance of 69,522 miles over 6,806 individual trips.
That’s close to three times around the entire circumference of the earth (24,901 miles)!

Warwickshire Registration and Libraries services introduce new library membership opportunity for babies
Parents and carers of newborns across the county will be offered a new opportunity to register their baby for a free library membership thanks to Warwickshire County Council’s Libraries service and Registration service.

 Warwickshire parents and carers to get secondary school offer on Monday 3 March
Just like last year, Warwickshire County Council will automatically accept school place offers on behalf of each family. This means that parents and carers don’t need to take any additional action but instead need to wait to hear from their new school.

Investment in vulnerable learners across Nuneaton
Warwickshire County Council is pleased to announce a significant investment of nearly £80,000 to support vulnerable learners across Nuneaton. Following extensive consultation with headteachers and stakeholders, the Nuneaton Education Alliance, a group created to improve educational attainment in the town, identified key areas of need and developed a comprehensive support package for the 2024/25 academic year.

Warwickshire County Council is pleased to announce the return of its Supported Internships Fair later this month. The event will offer a unique opportunity for young people aged 16-24 years with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), their families, carers, local businesses and education providers, to discover more about the benefits of supported internships – a work-based study programme for young people with SEND.

Disposable vapes will be banned soon – retailers should act now!
Warwickshire County Council’s Trading Standards Service is advising retailers to act now in advance of the ban on disposable vapes that comes into force on 1 June 2025. Retailers should now consider stopping buying new stocks of single use vapes and sell any existing stocks before 1 June.
