Making a Grant Application

If you wish to apply for a Grant then please read our Project Support Grant Criteria to ensure you are eligible.  If your project meets our criteria, please download the Application Form using the link on the right of this page and send the completed form to the address given at the bottom of the document.  If you require the Application Form sent in a different format, please do contact us on kentc@kenilworth-tc.gov.uk

Important notes about applying

Applicants should note the following, which form part of the Standing Orders

i. Project grants are divided into Minor (£1000 and below) and Major categories.

ii. All bids must be for a specified project, or element of a project.

iii. Grants must (unless deferral is agreed in writing by the Council) be committed by the applicant within the financial year that they are granted and are not to be utilized as any form of financial reserve.

iv. Subject to the provisions of the Local Government Act 1972, Section 137A, within a period of 12 months beginning on the date on which the assistance was provided a written statement is to be submitted by the applicant confirming the usage to which the amount allocated has been put.

v. Retrospective applications are not normally considered.

vi. All grants applications are to be submitted to the Finance Committee for consideration, who will normally arrange an interview or otherwise consult with the applicant(s) for each Major Grant. Unless the application is withdrawn, after these deliberations are completed the Finance Committee is to make a recommendation to the Town Council concerning each application, including (if appropriate) the level of grant recommended.

vii. An interview is required for those applying for major grants.

viii. Kenilworth Town Council reserve the right to request additional financial documentation/ evidence in support of applications.
