We have received the following statement from the Buckingham Group who are part of the A45/A46 new development:
“Following extensive testing of the lifting equipment and in line with current Government advice Buckingham Group Contracting Limited and its partners has taken the decision to proceed with the installation of the new bridge over the A45 /A46 this weekend commencing the 27th March 2020.
The work will be delivered in adherence with Government and Department of Health guidelines on social distancing. Should these change then the works programme will be amended to reflect this.
The installation is scheduled to take place;
As a result of the Coronavirus situation and Government guidance to stay at home unless absolutely essential, it is anticipated that there should be reduced level of traffic compared to a normal weekend. However, people are still advised there may still be disruption to journeys and they should avoid the area if possible or allow extra time for their journeys.
Traffic diversions will be in place utilising the A444, A4082 and B4110 during the closures. To ensure the efficient and safe operation of the diversion Saint James Lane will be closed at the B4110 junction with a local diversion in place.
Please adhere to the Government guidelines on social distancing. Social distancing measures will help reduce the transmission of coronavirus (COVID-19). There will be no provision for the public to watch the installation.
In the meantime, we apologise in advance for any inconvenience and if you have any questions about the works please contact BGCL via email using the address; whitleysouth@buckinghamgroup.co.uk.”
