Warwickshire’s students face important decisions as A level results are announced

Thousands of Warwickshire students will be facing some important decisions in the coming weeks after A level results were announced on Thursday 17 August.

While university beckons for many of the county’s students, other routes are available for those wishing to pursue apprenticeships or those who might have been hoping for different results and are now considering their options.

Kind Communities – Kind Food event

EQuIP is working in partnership with Warwickshire County Council to inform Warwickshire residents about affordable, sustainable and healthy food in Warwickshire.

Cost of Living is an issue for most of us, and having access to affordable good quality food is key!

The Kind Communities – Kind Food event is on Saturday 9 September, 11:00 – 15:00, at the Jubilee Sports Centre, Nuneaton.

The programme will include live cooking demonstrations, free health checks and information about healthy living, expert income and money saving advice, ‘Food Champion’ volunteer registration and free refreshments, snacks and goody bags.

What would you like to see in a local maternity and neonatal plan?

The Coventry and Warwickshire Local Maternity and Neonatal System and the Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership, are gathering your views.

They would like to know what you see as the important issues surrounding having your baby, during pregnancy, childbirth and afterwards.

The short survey will help them to start outlining a maternity and neonatal plan for the next 3-5 years.

Supporting young people and their mental health

As exam results come in and new school terms are about to start, young people may be feeling nervous, anxious, excited or unsure about their next stage. These are all very normal feelings, and learning how to manage and cope with them is important.

It’s important to looking after your body to improve mental health by having a good diet, regular exercise, plenty of sleep and limiting screen time. For those who may need more specialist support, the Warwickshire County Council website has a range of information and links to services dedicated to helping young people. Peer support, counselling, questionnaires and health information can be found at www.warwickshire.gov.uk/youthmentalhealth

Workshops and programmes for parents and carers

Being a parent is exciting and rewarding but there are also challenging times.

There are a range of face to face 2-hour workshops through to 10-week programmes for parents and carers across Warwickshire on topics including sleep, behaviour, routines and boundaries, teenagers, nurture and conflict between parents.
