That’s the message of a powerful new fostering film – any of us can foster a child or young person, if you have the capacity to care.

‘Any Of Us’ launched 26th September. It is the sixth film produced by a growing partnership of councils and children’s trusts to promote local authority fostering. The ‘Any Of Us’ project will be the largest public sector fostering film collaboration yet, with over 80 participants from Northumberland to Brighton and Liverpool to Kent.

Warwickshire’s Youth Council is calling for 11-18-year-olds living or studying in Warwickshire to step forward and nominate themselves for the forthcoming Youth Council elections.

More than 600 Warwickshire residents have offered their homes and opened their hearts to people in need from the moment that the Homes for Ukraine scheme started in the county. Zoia is one of 1500 Ukrainian refugees who have started a new chapter of their lives in Warwickshire.

Visit Stratford Library for the return of free Fun Palace event on Saturday 7 October

Stratford-upon-Avon Library and Information Centre will be transforming into a creative Fun Palace on Saturday 7 October 2023.

The Fun Palace event will be a day full of free activities from 10am – 3pm celebrating communities and culture, from enjoying children’s activities to sharing stories through music and poetry.

The national Fun Palaces campaign, which takes place during the first weekend of October each year, is a community-focused initiative that supports local people to co-create their own cultural and community events in a public venue, and where everyone’s individual brilliance can be recognised and valued.

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service are urging tenants to know their rights when it comes to fire safety in the property they are renting.

For many landlords the priority is for a property to be kept in a good condition and for the rent to be paid on time, but there is also the priority of providing a property that is fundamentally safe and habitable for tenants to live in.

New timetables coming soon to Warwickshire’s mobile libraries

Customers of Warwickshire County Council’s mobile library service are being informed that revised mobile library timetables, including new vehicle stops along the routes, will be coming into effect from October 2023. The changes are part of bigger plans to introduce two new electric-powered mobile library vehicles early next year.

From Monday 9 October 2023, mobile library visits will transition from a three-week to a four-week schedule, and locations that currently receive weekly visits will receive a visit every two weeks. To help reduce the impact of waiting an additional week between visits customers will be able to borrow more items if they wish.
