UK Government advice is that anyone in the UK concerned about relatives or friends should call the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) in London on 020 7008 5000. The FCDO has also updated their travel advice webpages for Turkey and for Syria.

Warwickshire Skills Hub offers those from Ukraine now settling here the warmest of welcomes and, through the Warwickshire Ukrainian Employability Programme, access to opportunities to build a career and livelihood in the county.

The objective of the scheme is to provide direct access to jobs that local employers have shaped, in conjunction with the Skills Hub’s Fair Chance Employment Programme.  This has proven to be an effective way to build inclusive jobs locally and boost engagement between Ukrainian jobseekers and employers who are tackling significant skills shortages.

Last year, Warwickshire County Council joined the Love to Ride family of partner organisations, giving residents, businesses and community groups access to the best rewards and resources that encourage cycling for travel, not just leisure.

Warwickshire County Council’s Road Safety and Active Travel team is encouraging residents to bring bikes along to a series of Dr Bike events taking place in towns around the County in March, April and May.

The Taste Match Challenge at the Castle, which took place in the splendour of the State Rooms, was the second leg of a friendly competition between Warwickshire’s High Sheriff and the High Sheriff of Surrey, His Honour Christopher Critchlow. The events brought together independent drinks producers from the respective areas to showcase their produce, which attendees had the opportunity to purchase and cast their votes in a blind tasting.

The theme was chosen for the annual report of Warwickshire’s Director of Public Health in acknowledgment of the challenges many are facing right now.

The event, which is running from 10am to 12.30pm, will feature organisations offering a range of support services for residents who may be struggling with the rising costs of living. This will include assistance with finance and debt, food support, energy and fuel, family assistance including childcare expenses and school holiday support, mental health and wellbeing, and local job vacancies.
