More funding available for adult numeracy projects in Warwickshire

The Multiply Project is a scheme, launched by the Government, to offer organisations funding for ideas that can redress the growing problem of poor numeracy in adults.

Multiply was launched in response to research which showed that around 17 million adults in England – half of the working-age population – have the numeracy skills of primary school children.

Developing future skills in Warwickshire to meet ambitions for net zero

Louise is the Business Skills Support Officer responsible for liaising with employers and training providers to deliver the recently launched £900,000 three-year Future Skills Programme from Warwickshire County Council, which aims to boost apprenticeships in industry with a future focus, supporting new and emerging technologies.

Warwickshire Buses: The new name for bus service improvements across Warwickshire

Warwickshire County Councill and Partners are pleased to present Warwickshire Buses as the new name for bus service improvements in the County.

Warwickshire Buses – previously known as the Warwickshire Enhanced Partnership for Buses – came out of the Warwickshire Bus Service Improvement Plan (WBSIP), which set out how the Council will use the framework of an Enhanced Partnership with all the County’s bus operators to deliver an ambitious vision for travel by bus in Warwickshire.

The Warwickshire County Council website homepage has a new look making it easier for residents to get to the information they need.

Using feedback from residents, the homepage has been redesigned to improve the user experience, supporting customers to access the most popular links and service information, as well as presenting a clear overview of what the Council does.

Warwickshire’s High Sheriff plans to plant 689 trees across Warwickshire

Sophie Hilleary, Warwickshire’s High Sheriff, has set out her plan to plant 689 new whips and saplings across the county and is looking for help to identify projects that need her support.

Sophie is the 689th High Sheriff of Warwickshire and has set out her bold ambition to plant the same number of trees across the county during the 2023/34 tree planting season, which begins in November.

LCE fund opens door for Selina to access vital small business funding

Selbi Food and Creations was seeking support in raising finance to fulfil it plans to open an African and Caribbean catering business in the town.

The company was referred to Coventry and Warwickshire Reinvestment Trust (CWRT) by the Chamber of Commerce where they had been receiving support. The experienced team at CWRT then provided Selbi’s with a personalised approach to ensure they could access the most suitable funding to meet their needs and support their growth plans.

Nationally one in six men will be subjected to emotional, physical, financial, sexual, technological, and elder abuse. Warwickshire’s summer holiday activities and food programme review

The local HAF scheme is part of a national government initiative, funded by the Department for Education, to provide enriching activities and nutritious meals during the end of term school holiday periods. The scheme is open to any young person in full-time education from reception to Year 11 if their families are eligible for benefits-related free school meals.
