Members of Warwickshire’s Youth Council discuss climate change fears

Members of Warwickshire’s Youth Council are encouraging other young people in the county to speak up about climate change and convince others to take action to reduce their carbon emissions.

In the discussion, recorded as part of the Sustainable Warwickshire podcast series, Riyasa Uprety from Rugby High School and Adam Ratcliffe from King Edward VI Sixth Form College in Nuneaton talk about the importance of young people making their voices heard on the behaviours and actions that we can all do to influence climate change.

Warwickshire’s Supported Internships Fair returning in Nuneaton

Following the success of the inaugural fair at Compton Verney in November, Warwickshire County Council will be holding its second Supported Internships Fair next month.

Taking place on Thursday 14 March 2024, 3pm to 7pm at Eliot Park Innovation Centre in Nuneaton, Warwickshire County Council’s Supported Internships Fair will give young people and their families and carers, along with local businesses and education providers, a first look at new guidance developed to provide improved information on supported internships.

What does Business Ready do?

Work begins on new fire training facility in Rugby

The facility, located on Paynes Lane in Rugby, will provide the ability to create realistic training scenarios where firefighters can learn essential skills in a controlled environment.

Work creating the foundations for the facility began on 26 February 2024, with the build expected to be completed by mid-2024. It will be made up of a series of structures mimicking different types of buildings that can be repeatedly set on fire.

Officers from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service are sharing fire safety tips and advice with the community in a series of Q&A videos.

The videos feature Sara Beirne and Sarah Shepherd from the WFRS Prevention Team and will be published on social media over the next few weeks.
