Boost for community food projects as Food Champions complete training

11 of the residents were welcomed into their new volunteer roles as Warwickshire Food Champions at a recent event in Shire Hall.

Representatives from the Council were also in attendance at the event to thank the residents in person for volunteering their time to this initiative, and to present each resident with certificates for completing the training.

Have your say on Community Safety concerns in Warwickshire so they can be tackled together

The survey will help to shape the work of the partnership, which includes representatives from Warwickshire’s councils, Fire and Rescue service, Police, the Police and Crime Commissioner, the Probation Service, Health, and charitable organisations.

The survey will ask people to give their views about current community safety issues, to find out about any concerns.

As part of its partnership with the Love to Ride cycling app, the Council encouraged residents to take part in the Bike Month Challenge during the month of May, with residents getting on their bikes and rising to the challenge!

Year 5 and 6 pupils gave their stamp of approval to award-winning author Simon James Green and his book “Finn Jones Was Here” in the annual award hosted by Warwickshire Schools Library Service (WSLS).

Warwickshire expands innovative trial to enhance support for learners with special educational needs and disabilities

This innovative approach aims to improve practices and foster collaboration among mainstream schools. After a successful trial in Rugby and a similar initiative in Bedworth, this programme is now being extended to include schools in South Warwickshire.

At the free launch events, which take place between 11am to 4pm, visitors can get involved in creative activities and workshops, as well as free drop-in events for 4-11 year olds and their families.

Free creative art packs will also be available for children signing up to the Summer Reading Challenge on the day, and free lunches will be provided by the Warwickshire Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme whilst stocks last.

Our Adult and Community Learning (ACL) service is seeking public input to shape its course offerings for the 2024/25 academic year. A short survey to find out more about people’s interests and learning preferences is running until 14 July and the public are invited to share their views.
