Be future ready with Warwickshire’s youth conference

The themes for the day have been chosen by young people and are mental health, climate change, relationships, youth homelessness and careers. Young people will get a chance to choose two workshops from these themes and will also have a chance to talk to over 25 organisations from Warwickshire who help to create a child friendly county.

With a focus on planting sustainably, The QGC celebrates Her Majesty’s 70 remarkable years of service and will create a legacy in honour of The Queen’s leadership of the Nation. Anyone can get involved in planting a tree for the Jubilee, or mark the occasion with a physical or virtual commemorative plaque in keeping with the environmental focus.

The best time to plant a tree is from October 2021 to the end of March 2022. New Autism Strategy approved for Coventry and Warwickshire

The strategy has now been adopted by the key organisations who lead on autism services across the region, and Coventry City Council joins Warwickshire County Council, NHS Coventry and Warwickshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and the Warwickshire Autism Partnership Board in giving their approval to the strategy.

The new Autism Strategy commits the partner organisations to commissioning high quality autism services and support, as well as working closely with one another to build local communities that are more inclusive and welcoming for autistic people and to improve the lives and opportunities for autistic children, young people, and adults. It will be launched at the Together with Autism conference in April.

Help Warwickshire Libraries in celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Have you or a member of your family received an MBE, OBE or a Duke of Edinburgh award, met a member of the royal family or attended a Buckingham Palace Garden Party?

Did you see a member of the royal family when they visited Warwickshire, remember watching the Coronation or a Royal Wedding on the television? Or have you attended a street party to celebrate a Jubilee?

If so, then Warwickshire Library Service would love to hear from you. Forms are available at your local library for you to share your memories and photographs can be taken of you with your medal or other memorabilia.

To reassure people, no matter how they have been affected, that they don’t have to struggle on their own and that support is available to them, the councils have commissioned a new service. Support after suicide provider Amparo can offer specialist help to anyone living in Coventry or Warwickshire who has been bereaved or affected by suicide in any way.
