Throughout the pandemic, hundreds of people have come together to set up and manage a vast number of sites to ensure our population has access to the vaccine.

Birmingham 2022 is searching for the sports presenters of the future to be part of the biggest multi-sport event to be staged in the country since the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The organisers of the Games are looking for around 20 talented local people to be Venue Hosts and Announcers. This will involve them engaging with the thousands of spectators expected to fill each of the official competition venues this summer.

Children’s Mental Health Week is running from 7 – 13 February and partners across Coventry and Warwickshire are using the week to help raise awareness of services available to support health and wellbeing for our infants, children and young people.

This year’s theme for the awareness week is ‘growing together’, run by children’s mental health charity – Place2B – the week is an opportunity to discuss with young people how they have grown emotionally and ways in which they can help others grow.

In collaboration with Warwickshire Libraries, the SLS supports primary and secondary schools across Warwickshire by offering a subscription-based service at great value to help create lifelong readers and learners in students. SLS staff are on hand to offer professional advice for the development of literacy and learning in educational settings, and can help schools develop their own library and reading spaces onsite to establish text-rich environments that help pupils to make the educational progress they deserve.

International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation – residents urged to be vigilant of harmful practices

It is thought that around 130 million girls across the world (60,000 in the UK*) are exposed to FGM, which is condemned by many countries as a human rights violation. Many young girls will often experience intense pain for months after the procedure and ultimately, they will live with long suffering injuries well into their adult life.

Residents are being urged to treat FGM like any other form of abuse and as such, to report anything suspicious to the Police by calling 101.

Tell us your Commonwealth Stories and be part of a new exhibition

The Warwickshire County Council Heritage and Culture Service want local people to tell them about their own connections to the Commonwealth. Whether it’s a short story, a personal experience or a link to a local community, they are keen to hear from anyone with a story to tell.

The two fire incidents took place between 4pm and 6pm on the 31 January and 2 February respectively and were quickly contained by crews on arrival at the domestic properties.

Educational project in Warwickshire testing new ways of providing early intervention support to learners

The Inclusion Framework for Schools Trial involves more than 16 schools from across the Rugby area and is testing a framework that will see increased collaboration and peer to peer support between local schools.
