Warwickshire residents asked to share views on bus services

More than 1,600 people took part in a consultation last summer to help shape the Warwickshire Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) which was published in November 2021.

The BSIP set out desired improvements to the bus network in response to the National Bus Strategy which, subject to funding, will encourage more of us to use buses.

This new public consultation means views are needed again to shape and finalise the next stage of an Enhanced Partnership (EP) Plan and the first Warwickshire EP Scheme, which must be formally agreed with bus operators by 1 April 2022. The consultation survey is open until 1 February 2022.

Meet Kevin Fulleylove, on-call firefighter with Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service

This is how Kevin Fulleylove, 41, from Atherstone, describes his role as an on-call firefighter based at Atherstone Fire Station.

Kevin has worked as an on-call firefighter for seven years and balances his firefighting work with a full-time role with UPS SCS where he has worked for five years.

Warwick COVID-19 vaccination site open to 12-15 year olds

The Warwickshire County Council building is being used by the NHS to provide vaccines for 12 to 15-year-olds who have not had their first dose yet. One dose of a COVID-19 vaccine gives good protection against young people getting seriously ill and helps stop the spread of the disease.

Phase three of Stratford-upon-Avon town centre highways improvements announced

This is the third phase of works in the town centre following Phases One and Two which saw the resurfacing of the paving and highways in Bridge Street and High Street that was carried out in 2019/20.

The works on Wood Street will see the old paving replaced.  This has been subject to a large amount of wear and tear over recent years, with high tonnage vehicles using it for deliveries and damaging the paving which was not suitable for that use.
