The latest inspection, published in a report on 1 February 2022, by Ofsted found that children and families in Warwickshire benefit from consistently good quality services at an early stage, making a real difference to their lives. Ofsted found that WCC social workers listen carefully to children and make sure that children’s views inform decision-making. Social workers were found to be building stronger, more trusting relationships with families, giving parents confidence to develop their parenting skills.

Health and care partners in Coventry and Warwickshire are using Time to Talk Day to remind residents that a small conversation about mental health has the power to make a big difference.

Research shows that people are often afraid to talk about their mental health experiences because they fear the response and stigma they may receive. However, open, direct and honest conversations can break down barriers, helping to end the isolation, shame and worthlessness that too many people feel when experiencing a mental health problem.

Run by Warwickshire County Council and Coventry City Council, Young Green Shoots is open to any young person aged from 4 through to 19 who are in full-time education and live or go to school within the region. Following on from the COP26 conference in Glasgow last year, it is an opportunity for children and young people in the region to become advocates in fighting the climate crisis.

We’re looking to businesses, organisations and individuals for ideas, no matter how small, which will nurture the next generation.

This will be key to the success of Child Friendly Warwickshire, an exciting programme bringing the county together in a collective mission to create opportunities and lasting and positive change for young people. It will ensure their voices are heard, that they are safe, happy and healthy and equipped with the skills to lead the best lives they can.

The purpose of the newly established Health Equity Group is to ensure a community perspective is always included in service planning and improvements. The views and ideas of residents will be central to ensuring needs can be met across the county.

The Graduated Approach is used by schools, SEND support professionals parents and carers to help a child overcome challenges they may be facing at school It is a cycle of support for a specific need using four stages: asses, plan, do and review. The webinar will explore what this means in practice and how it is used to support children and young people.
