Dear Friends,
It’s been a long journey, but we are very pleased to announce that the Newbold Comyn Cycle Trails are now officially open. The new facility offers the opportunity for all ages and abilities to enjoy cycling on a fantastic off-road area with graded trails and a learn to ride section for those new to mountain biking. Not without its challenges, this has been a great achievement by our Projects and Green Spaces teams and made possible thanks in part to Sport England and British Cycling funding.
We know that cycling isn’t for everyone, but keeping active during the winter months is a key factor in maintaining mental and physical health. We’re lucky to have a wealth of community groups and facilities in our district with regular sessions for all ages and fitness levels or to simply enjoy some company. These include twelve wellbeing walks which take place every week from a number of locations, many finishing with a welcome cup of tea. This advice goes alongside our messages to check your eligibility and that of loved ones for a seasonal flu and/or Covid vaccination.

And finally……we’ve officially passed GO with the new Royal Leamington Spa edition of Monopoly now available to purchase. WDC Chairman Cllr Sidney Syson attended Thursday’s launch along with the Mayor of Leamington Spa Cllr Alan Boad (also featured on a Community Chest card). The new board has lots of familiar landmarks as well as local charities including Guide Dogs, Helping Hands and the Myton Hospices, so there’s something for your Christmas stocking.
Have a great weekend.
