About David Bailey

Electoral Ward: Dalehouse

Political Party: Green Party

Election date: 4 May, 2023

Kenilworth has been David and his family’s home since 2005, after moving from Warwick where he worked at IBM. Now a freelance software engineer, he’s supported a range of local businesses and government agencies. The exponential pace of internet and tech development keeps David on his toes – along with running the annual Two Castles 10km race..!

David has served on the town council since 2023, after volunteering for the Green Party, in order to build on local success stories, and ensure that Kenilworth grows economically and socially only as per the community’s needs and wishes. He especially loves listening and interacting with residents on the doorstep and at town events.

David researched the beauty and complexity of life for his university degree in zoological science, and the urgency of climate action. He wants to apply this knowledge to recover local biodiversity around Abbey Fields and our green spaces. He sees many opportunities to successfully resolve housing, inequality and transport issues around Kenilworth in satisfying, innovative and environmentally-friendly ways.

David sits on the Town Council’s Finance & General Services Committee and Planning Committee.  He is also a nominated attendee of the Kenilworth-Uyogo Friendship Link.
