Welcome to the All New Kenilworth Youth Council! Our aim is to engage our young people in local democracy, community development, and civic life. We want to give young residents a voice in local decision-making and provide valuable leadership opportunities while strengthening the council’s connection with our community.

Your Youth Council

Youth councils provide a structured and meaningful channel for young people to express their views on local issues that affect them. We aim to provide a platform:

To represent young people within the town and ensure their perspectives inform local decision-making.
To empower young people to participate in civic life and understand the role of local government.
To identify issues affecting young people and propose solutions or initiatives.
To deliver or support youth-led projects, events and campaigns.

We know that young people experience their communities differently from adults. A youth council enables the Town Council to access perspectives that may otherwise be overlooked, leading to more inclusive and informed decision-making. In return we can offer valuable opportunities for young people to develop leadership, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. These are transferable skills that support education, employment, and wellbeing.
